Bitmain has responded to the letter released yesterday by Bitcoin Roundtable, a community of bitcoin businesses, exchanges, wallets, miners, and mining pools, which rejected ‘contentious’ hard-fork proposals.
The letter has been signed off by Bitfinex, BitFury, BitmainWarranty (AntPool), BTCC, BIT-X Exchange, BTCT/BW, F2Pool, Genesis Mining. GHash.IO & CEX.IO, LIGHTNINGASIC & BitExchange, Litecoin creator Charlie Lee, Spondoolie-Tech, Smartwallet and Zoomhash.
Jihan Wu, the co-founder of Bitmain and Antpool, tweeted that BitmainWarranty is not Bitmain and added that his company will start testing Bitcoin Classic soon, AllCoinsNews reported.
“BITMAINwarrenty is not BITMAIN. BITMAIN will test Classic after the holidays. Core is still the best to lead a HF but they just refuse”, the Twitter post read.
Earlier this month, Jihan Wu had tweeted that Antpool will start testing Bitcoin Classic soon – likely after the holidays.
Bitcoin classic seeks to raise the block size to 2MB using a hard fork. The first release of Bitcoin Classic version 0.11.2 was recently issued. It is based on Core version 0.11.2, and is compatible with its blockchain files and wallet.
According to latest statistics from Coin.Dance, node data site, Bitcoin Classic has 720 nodes running the software at the time of writing.
