‘Better Call Saul’ season 5: Bob Odenkirk suggest Kim Wexler may die; Co-showrunner Peter Gould confirms series’ finale is close

Better Call Saul

Fans want to see “Better Call Saul” season 5 now as it has been almost a year since they last watched the season 4 finale. Although it cannot be confirmed yet when the series is returning, there is still good news for everyone as AMC officially renewed the show for its fifth chapter.

Why is the drama delayed?

While the renewal was announced on July 2018, filming for “Better Call Saul” season 5 did not begin at once. There was a long hiatus, and sadly, the production has not started yet until now. The series is apparently delayed, but it was said there is another reason for the holdup and they are pointing at a movie that shares the same production team as the drama.

Based on the reports, “Better Call Saul” season 5 has been delayed to give way to the “Breaking Bad” movie. This was said to be the main reason although the showrunners did not mention about it. The film is expected to be out in cinemas in 2020, and it will feature Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman and Bryan Cranston.

Plot - What will happen?

“Better Call Saul” season 5 will be about Jimmy McGill’s (Bob Odenkirk) transformation to becoming Saul Goodman. But the sad thing is that as he turns bad, he is likely to lose Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) and in the process, Jimmy will be lost forever.

According to Odenkirk, it will be the end of Jimmy once Kim goes away and he seems to be suggesting that she will either die or go somewhere and never come back. “When Kim goes away that’s probably a kind of a bigger and deeper schism to tie him, where he cannot be Jimmy anymore,” Odenkirk told The Wrap. “It will be interesting to see, I don’t know how we get there.”

Finale and release date

There were reports that say “Better Call Saul” season 5 is the second to the last installment which means that the sixth season would be the finale. Co-showrunner Peter Gould revealed this detail late last year when he said that they are getting closer to the end of the series. Meanwhile, Sarah Barnett, AMC President, announced that the show would return in 2020 but did not specify the exact date.
