“Better Call Saul” season 5 has been renewed by AMC and it was confirmed that the cast and crew are already in the filming stage. The entertainment company announced the fifth installment during the Television Critics Association summer press tour that was held in July last year.

Now, after the announcement, fans are eagerly waiting for updates about the “Breaking Bad” prequel’s fifth installment. There was no info since last year but recently, new details emerged and it revealed “Better Call Saul” season 5’s filming schedule.

According to KOB News 4, “Better Call Saul” season 5 will start filming in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 10, 2019. It was added that the shoot is expected to last until August.

Cast – Who Will Be Back?

While the complete cast lineup for “Better Call Saul” season 5 is not confirmed yet, the viewers will definitely see Bob Odenkirk (Jimmy McGill), Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut) and Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler) back again. Of course, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould will remain as co-showrunners.

Episodes and Plot

“Better Call Saul” season 5 may go over the usual 10 episodes per season. As per Independent, this is because this could be the last run. If not 10, the publication wrote that it could feature a total of 20 episodes. It also mentioned that Gould said he does not have any plan of extending “BCS” longer than “Breaking Bad” thus it is likely that the show is really ending already.

As for the “Better Call Saul” season 5’s plot, Peter Gould hinted via his interview with Entertainment Weekly that the drama will show Jimmy McGill’s transformation into Saul Goodman.

"It seems like Jimmy's first move is to try to leverage all the contacts he has in the world of selling drop phones,” he said. “The question is: how does he establish a reputation as not just a criminal lawyer but a criminal lawyer? Because situations may require him to do things and turn a blind eye to things that Jimmy McGill would not be able to stomach."

Finally, based on the filming schedule, “Better Call Saul” season 5 may possibly premiere before the year ends although there is no guarantee.
