“Better Call Saul” season 5 is coming back but there is bad news, it will not be released any time soon. AMC announced late last week that fans have to wait a bit more before the drama arrives. Saul wrapped up Season 4 back in October 2018
In her interview with Vulture, Sarah Barnett, AMC’s President of Entertainment Network she said, “We said on our most recent earnings call that the series would come back for season five next year."
Barnett also relayed that the reason for the delay of “Better Call Saul” season 5 was due to their aim to present a better show. "It’s driven by talent needs, which we would not override if it would result in a worse show," she said.
Likewise, the AMC President also explained that they placed “Better Call Saul” season 5 on hold due to some of the cast members’ schedules. The show is adjusting to work on the actors’ available filming dates.
However, despite the announcement of “Better Call Saul” season 5’s release, there is bad news on the side. After the fifth season, only a few episodes left before the drama concludes.
“The writers, they have a very particular, very clear sense of the arc of their show,” Slash Film quoted Barnett as saying in another interview. “Well, we know clearly the end was already written before the beginning began. We’re certainly getting closer to it.”
“Better Call Saul” season 5 will feature Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) getting closer to becoming Saul Goodman. It can be recalled that at the finale of season 4, Jimmy is leaning more on his dark side and he seems to be fully transforming to his Goodman character.
Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) saw the changes in Jimmy and there were predictions that they will grow apart in “Better Call Saul” season 5 as Saul Goodman starts to take over and slowly burying Jimmy in the darkness. Whether they will stay together or move on apart is yet to be seen in the fifth installment.
“Better Call Saul” season 5 is set to premiere in 2020. The exact date is not yet available for this “Breaking Bad” sequel.
