Ben Affleck recently suffered another relapse into his alcohol addiction following his breakup with Lindsay Shookus. After hearing the news, Jennifer Garner came rushing to the side of the “Batman” actor and sent him to rehab, People reported.
But before doing so, the “Elektra” actress staged an intervention for Ben Affleck with the help of an addiction specialist she brought along. After that, Jennifer Garner went to a drive-thru to buy his ex-partner some food and ultimately made their way to The Canyon Treatment Center at Peace Park in Malibu.
This is Ben Affleck’s third relapse into his alcohol addiction, which occurred just days after he celebrated his 46th birthday. After calling it quits with Lindsay Shookus, Jennifer Garner’s ex was photographed receiving alcohol delivery to his house.
What’s more, Ben Affleck was also seen going on a date with 22-year-old Playboy model Shaun Sexton a day after celebrating his birthday. Reports are claiming that during this time, “The Town” actor’s relapse was already in full swing and that he’d been drinking himself to a stupor. Fortunately, Jennifer Garner was there to pick Affleck up and give him the help he needed.
Reports are saying that the relapse was so bad that Ben Affleck even failed to take a shower, only finding refuge in the bottle once more. Now, following the “Pearl Harbor” actor’s return to his alcohol addiction, some are blaming Shauna Sexton for causing his relapse. The Playboy model addressed this when an Instagram follower accused her of causing the spiral that Jennifer Garner’s ex is going through.
Sexton said in Instagram that she’s not going to disrespect Ben Affleck’s “hard-earned sobriety” by drinking with or in front of him. She also added that Jennifer Garner’s ex is a “grown man” and blaming her for his third relapse is simply “ridiculous.”
Even Ben Affleck himself said that his alcohol addiction mostly stems from his insecurity. And the root cause of that insecurity is mostly rooted in the industry he’s in. Directors and some folks in the entertainment sphere have repeatedly told the actor that while he has the talent, he isn’t handsome enough to be a leading man. Fortunately, even though they’re separated, Jennifer Garner is still there to keep Affleck on his feet, even though the “Alias” alum has had to pick up the pieces left by her ex.
