Jennifer Garner’s soon-to-be ex-husband Ben Affleck decided to stay for a longer period in rehab, according to reports. The “Justice League” actor was purportedly meant to stay in the facility for 30 days starting last Aug. 22.
It has been a little over 30 days since Garner reportedly staged an intervention in Affleck’s home, which later convinced him to enter rehab for the third time. A source of E! claimed that the actor is showing more commitment this time around, leading to his decision to stay in the program longer than originally planned.
"He has a lot of demons but he wants to understand himself and have the results be different this time. He is committed to staying longer which is a very positive development,” the same insider said about Garner’s estranged husband. The source added that Affleck is “hopeful about the future” and happy with the progress he has made.
Another source claimed that Ben Affleck’s main motivation to persevere in his struggle to become sober is his three children with Jennifer Garner. “He always wants to be the best father and this relapse put his family back in the public eye,” the tipster said.
Garner's support for Affleck from the said intervention up to the time he has been in rehab is another proof of how much they can be amicable and still care for one another despite their ongoing divorce. They have been separated since 2015 but Garner filed for divorce in 2017. Affleck and Garner reached a divorce settlement last month shortly after the actor went to rehab.
The divorce agreement was supposedly going to be signed once Affleck finishes his 30-day program. So far, no update about it has been reported since the actor's decision to remain in rehab longer.
Jennifer Garner appears to be happily single and juggles her acting career with being a mom so well. On the other hand, Ben Affleck has been involved with a couple of women since his split from the “Peppermint” actress. Shortly before his breakup with “Saturday Night Live” producer Lindsay Shookus was confirmed, Affleck was spotted going out with Playboy model Shauna Sexton a couple of times before checking in to rehab.
