“Ballers” Season 5 has already been confirmed, so fans can rest at ease in knowing that they will have more Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on their TV screens to play his character, Spencer Strasmore. Spencer had been through and done a lot in season 4 of the show. However, he is expected to accomplish even more in “Ballers” Season 5 as he aims to destroy the NCAA.
The main goal of “Ballers” Season 5 was already established in the recently concluded season 4, with Spencer declaring that he was going to "take the NCAA down, brick-by-brick," Deadline notes. This thirst for revenge was in connection to the suicide of his brother, which he blames the institution for.
Viewers would also already know of the beef that Spencer and the NCAA had with the case of Quincy (Eli Goree) being rejected by the organization due to his connection to the financial manager. So, this makes the main storyline of “Ballers” Season 5 pretty much established.
In response to the overwhelming support of fans for the show and to officially announce “Ballers” Season 5, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also posted the details on Instagram back in September. Considering that the next season will basically be The Rock versus the NCAA, viewers will not want to miss it.
"THANK YOU FANS worldwide for rockin’ with us and being the driving force behind our success. Besides us being HBO’s highest rated show - I also feel my character’s ambition, drive & demons is an extension of our loyal fans who watch - and we’ll continue to go hard and rock this motherf*cker til’ the wheels fall off. Our next season will be our best yet. Let’s roll," the post reads in part.
“Ballers” Season 5 is expected to premiere in the summer of 2019, Carter Matt predicts. Most listings just put the season debut down to next year. However, considering the popularity of the show, summer sounds about right.
