BTS is definitely the hottest boy band today. They held concerts in many countries, and all of them were sold out. Their albums and movies also did so well that it is no wonder if they are also one of the richest people in the entertainment industry, especially in South Korea where they originated.
The group has a large following, and they have successfully infiltrated the American music scene as well. With this achievement, BTS’s songs are always on Billboard’s top lists, and they are unstoppable since any of their newly released songs will surely make it to the rankings now.
How much does the group earn?
It was reported that BTS has an impressive salary now. According to CNBC, the band is estimated to worth around $3.6 billion per year. They contribute to the economy of South Korea through consumer exports amounting to over $1 billion. Based on the estimates, if the Big Hit Entertainment talent will be able to maintain their popularity in the next ten years, they have the potential to bring in around $37 billion to Korea’s economy and push its growth.
Where do BTS’ earnings come from?
Aside from concerts overseas and in their home country, BTS also has lots of endorsement deals not just in Korea but in many Asian countries too. As mentioned, earlier, almost all of the albums that they release these days are sure hits worldwide, and this generates high income for the team.
Moreover, the members RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, Suga, V, and Jungkook also appear on TV in their own show or as guests, and they earn this way too. They also have movies where the tickets get sold old in pre-sales, and although they are like documentary films rather than a drama, fans still love to watch them.
Meanwhile, BTS’ company, Big Hit Entertainment, is expanding. They are obviously growing rapidly, and Forbes reported that it recently acquired GFriend’s label, Source Music. The merge could mean that the girl group will be in the same company as the BTS too.
“A contract for the acquisition of Source Music’s shares has recently been finalized and the company will join Big Hit as a subsidiary,” the company rep said in a statement. “Source Music’s management team will remain at the helm in order to maintain the label’s independence and unique colors.”
