BETHLEHEM, Pa., Sept. 12, 2017 -- B. Braun Medical Inc. will highlight its commitment to the critical steps and products needed for peripheral intravenous (PIV) therapy success at the 2017 Association for Vascular Access (AVA) Annual Scientific Meeting. Two educational sessions, a preview of B. Braun’s new Introcan Safety® Deep Access IV Catheters and demonstrations of the recently launched VeinViewer® visualization technology will be featured.
During AVA from Sept.17-19 in Phoenix, Arizona, B. Braun also invites attendees to two educational presentations:
- In collaboration with Christie Medical Holdings, Inc., B. Braun will present a breakfast symposium entitled “Reducing PIVC Complications & Guiding Clinicians: Technology & the 5Ps” by Gregory J. Schears, M.D., Professor of Anesthesiology, Rochester, MN. The symposium will be held from 7 to 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, in Valley of the Sun Room ABC of the Sheraton Grand Phoenix Hotel. One CE credit will be available. To register, visit http://www.BBraunlearning.com.
- B. Braun will sponsor a second presentation by Dr. Schears, “Going Long with Ultrasound-Guided PIVCs,” from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 in Room North 121AB in the Phoenix Convention Center. No registration is necessary. For more information, visit www.BBraunAVA.com.
At booth #113, B. Braun will showcase the following products:
- Introcan Safety Deep Access IV Catheters: The four longer-length catheters (from 1.25 to 2.5 inches) are designed to reduce the potential for complications and unscheduled restarts by allowing more catheter to reside in the deep veins. The new catheters, available this fall, can help facilitate IV procedures involving access to deeper veins, including ultrasound guidance for difficult-access patients.
- VeinViewer: These near-infrared vein visualization systems provide clinicians with an accurate image of patient veins. VeinViewer is designed to improve first stick success, and reduce the time to PIV access. Christie Medical Holdings, Inc., is the manufacturer and B. Braun is the distributor of VeinViewer.
- STEADYCare™ extension set with the Wedge™ catheter stabilizer: These products are designed to provide stabilization to PIV catheters and to help reduce catheter-related complications.
- Ster-ASSIST™ sterile peripheral IV catheter insertion kit: This kit supports the use of ultrasound-guided PIV insertions and encourages best practice by containing the components required to perform a sterile technique.
