Fans will have to wait a little longer for “Attack on Titan” season 4 than they used to in the previous seasons. The series finale installment is going to miss its usual springtime premiere.
‘Attack on Titan’ season 4 release date: When will it premiere?
Shortly after the third season concluded, “Attack on Titan” season 4 was announced as the finale and that it will be released in 2020. But there is a small caveat because the anime series will not return until the fall of next year. That means the show will skip the spring and summer lineup that was assigned to series since the first season aired in 2013.
However, there might be a good reason for the slight delay. Normally, the manga is always ahead of the anime that is still the case for Hajime Isayama’s series. The manga is already at the unnamed final arc where the long-running war between Marley and the Eldians are anticipated to be resolved. Since Isayama most likely does not want the anime to surpass the original series, it is understandable why “Attack on Titan” season 4 is scheduled to premiere in fall 2020.
Back in April, it was reported that Isayama confirmed he eyes to end the series “in one or two years.” In that case, there is a good chance that the manga will reach its finale within the first half of 2020. This way, “Attack on Titan” season 4 can have all of the fans’ undivided attention once it starts in fall 2020.
‘Attack on Titan’ season 4 plot: What to expect
Eren and the rest of the Survey Corps have finally gotten the answers they were looking for in many years. They learned how the problems with Titans started and how it is linked to the clash of Marley and Eldia. Unfortunately, finding the answer does not mean the fight is over in “Attack on Titan” season 4.
As for Eren, he found a new purpose and that is to set Eldia completely free from Marley’s control. Based on the events from the manga, the start of “Attack on Titan” season 4 should focus on introducing a new set of main characters from the side of Marley.
