The preview of “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 is out and reveals that it marks the beginning of the fan-favorite “Return to Shiganshina” arc. It also means that the former commander of Survey Corps, Keith Shadis, will return for the episode titled “Bystander.”
Avid fans of the franchise will immediately recognize “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 through its title. With the accompanying video trailer, it is certainly going to be the beginning of a new arc that will start with remembering events from 20 years ago, thanks to Keith’s help.
In a nutshell, “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 is covering many flashback scenes involving Eren’s parents, Grisha and Carla. It will be shown that Keith was the one who found Grisha wandering outside the Walls during a recon.
“Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 will reveal that Grisha was suffering from amnesia when Keith decided to bring him inside the Walls. Despite losing his memories, Eren’s father became a reliable doctor and even saved the people of Shiganshina, including Carla and her family, from a plague.
“Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 is also likely going back to the time when Keith, out of immense frustration, decided to step down as the Survey Corps commander. He was replaced by Erwin but, ironically, the Walls fell on the day of his resignation, leading to the death of Eren's mother.
One of the details to be revealed in “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 is the fact that Keith was one of the first people to know about Eren’s Titan status. Keith will also come clean about his attempt to sabotage Eren by rigging the vertical maneuvering equipment belt for his balancing tests and what convinced him not to proceed with his plan.
A sentimental moment in “Bystander" is also in order once Keith recalls his last conversations with Carla. Eren’s mother maintained that no one else has to recognize that her child is special because Eren is already great just by being born into the world. “Attack on Titan” season 3 episode 11 will officially air on Sunday, Sept. 30.
