SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Sept. 02, 2016 -- AppFolio, Inc. (NASDAQ:APPF), a leading provider of cloud-based business software solutions in the property management and legal markets, today announced enhancements to AppFolio Property Manager’s communication feature set. AppFolio Property Manager offers both a system of record and a system of engagement for customers, providing a complete set of features necessary to run a modern property management business. These new enhancements expand on the existing communication feature set to help property managers foster even stronger partnerships with today’s more mobile renters and owners.
With these new updates it is now even easier for busy renters and owners to access important information and documents and perform actions like pay rent and submit a maintenance request from their mobile device. For example, renters can now be notified to activate their portal via text message during the move-in process; and once logged in, they can add photos to maintenance requests as well as view previous payments and lease terms in one convenient location. Streamlining these communication activities allows AppFolio customers to complete transactions and respond even faster to their renters and owners - this rapid response is becoming a requirement to succeed in the modern economy.
According to a recent Aspect Consumer Experience Survey, 73 percent of consumers expect the ability to solve most product and service issues on their own rather than contact a customer-service representative. And three out of the top five renter complaints, according to J Turner Research, are customer-service related. This sentiment paired with the growing expectation for businesses to provide above-excellent experiences meant these enhancements were a logical next step for AppFolio.
“Excellent service is a critical differentiator in the property management industry, but we often hear from customers that it’s getting harder to stand out as more of their competitors realize the value of providing top-notch experiences,” said Nat Kunes, Vice President of Product Management at AppFolio. “To provide the best service, not only do you need great people but you also need great technology. We believe we’re leading the way for our customers with these modern communication tools and mobile options that allow them to stand out from their competition.”
Newly enhanced communication functionality includes:
- Two-Way Text Messaging: send renters, owners and vendors important updates from within AppFolio Property Manager directly to their mobile device.
- Bulk Tenant Email: send emails to one or more tenants in a property and receive replies for easy tracking and communication.
- Redesigned Online Tenant and Owner Portals: self-service portals for renters and owners to easily access documents and statements, make online payments, and submit maintenance requests.
- Store records: email and text conversations are automatically logged in AppFolio Property Manager to help users maintain easily referenceable records.
These new updates are now live and available for all AppFolio Property Manager customers.
