It would appear that the Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt divorce proceedings are getting messier as time goes on. Recent reports suggest that the estranged couple are far from coming to an agreement with regards to the custody of their children. The matter has become so complicated that accusations of shirking child support duties are now being thrown around.
The Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt separation issue is apparently far from being settled, E! News reports. A source told the publication that the custody matter is slowing down proceedings as the former couple simply can’t come to an agreement.
"Brad and Angelina are not even close to settling their divorce," the source reportedly told the publication. "They are so hung up on dealing with the custody issues that they haven't even exchanged any financial documents yet, which is routine in divorces and one of the first steps people take in the filing process."
The publication also included a comment from someone who is supposedly close to the estranged pair, saying that neither settlements nor resolutions will be achieved in the near future. Apparently, custody has been the only topic tackled so far. This is a problem since it’s already been two years since it was announced that the Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt dynamic was no more.
What’s more, according to court filings that were obtained by NBC News, it would seem that the Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt custody issue has a financial twist to it. The “Ocean’s” franchise star is being accused by the “Maleficent” actress of refusing to pay child support. As a result, a legal solution is now being considered.
"Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children's expenses have not been regularly sustained by [Pitt] for over a year and a half, [Jolie] intends to file an RFO for the establishment of a retroactive child support order," the document reads.
An RFO is basically a court order that would force the “Fight Club” actor to pay his dues. This adds another complication to an already messy Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt divorce that seems to have no end in sight.
