The past couple of years may have been challenging for Angelina Jolie considering that her family has to go through her divorce from Brad Pitt. Subsequently, the former couple needed to settle their disputes over the custody of their six children. However, if recent reports are accurate, Jolie seemed to be on her path of moving forward in life and is rumored to be considering adopting her seventh child.
The report came from OK! Magazine (via Hollywood Life), citing typical anonymous insiders. “[Angelina’s] planning to adopt another child once she’s done filming and promoting ‘Maleficent 2,’” the report’s source said.
Together, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt share six children: 16-year-old Maddox Chivan, 14-year-old Pax Thien, 13-year-old Zahara Marley, 12-year-old Shiloh Nouvel, and the 10-year-old twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon. Jolie adopted Maddox, Zahara, and Pax as a single parent in 2004, 2005 and 2007, respectively. In all three kids, Pitt later filed for legal adoption while Jolie petitioned for the changing of their last names to Jolie-Pitt.
According to reports, Jolie feels like her children and now “growing up and don’t need her as much.” Insiders point to this as being the main reason why the “First They Killed My Father” writer and director wants to adopt another child.
Angelina Jolie or her representatives have not yet confirmed or denied these reports. But the rumors go as far as suggesting that the actress is likely to adopt a Syrian child. “She really wants to do this. It breaks Angie’s heart every time she sees a kid suffering. She still has so much love to give,” the source of OK! Magazine added.
Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016 citing “irreconcilable differences,” TMZ reported. Months after, the ex-couple faced the legal battle of who gets custody of their six young kids.
Last June, reports surfaced that a judge warned Angelina Jolie that she could lose primary custody of her children if she would not allow Brad Pitt to have a relationship with them. The Blast claimed they obtained the court papers of the case where the judge purportedly commented, “If the minor children remain closed down to their father and depending on the circumstances surrounding this condition, it may result in a reduction of the time they spend with [Jolie] and may result in the Court ordering primary physical custody to [Pitt].”
As a response to the judge's opinion, Jolie's camp reportedly offered a detailed visitation schedule for Pitt. The judge also ruled that Pitt should be allowed to have phone conversations with his children without supervision from Jolie.
