“American Horror Story” Season 8 will be airing tonight at 10 p.m. and fans are glued to their seats waiting for what the showrunners did for this new installment. The subtitle for this season is “Apocalypse” as the plotline revolves around a fallout that seemingly upended civilization as we know it.
While the franchise has been using an anthology method to deliver different chilling narratives in the past, “American Horror Story” Season 8 is the amalgamation of two previous seasons. “Murder House” and “Coven” have been coalesced together to create this season’s premise, Hollywood Life reported.
As such, a lot of previous actors and actresses will be returning in “American Horror Story” Season 8 to reprise their roles while donning another persona at the same time. Sarah Paulson is set to reprise her role as Cordelia Foxx from “Coven” and the new character Wilhemina Venable. Meanwhile, Evan Peters will play the infamous Tate Langdon from “Murder House” as well as take on a double-duty role as Mr. Gallant.
Jessica Lange, Dylan McDermott, Frances Conroy, and Emma Roberts will also be in “American Horror Story” Season 8. As a refresher, “Murder House” revolves around the story of the Harmon family who moved into a house that has a dark past. Meanwhile, “Coven” is the story of the alleged descendants of the Salem witches and those who survived the Salem witch trials.
Because of the anthology method that the showrunners implemented in previous installments, fans of the franchise have often wondered if all events are taking place in the same universe. That question has been answered by “American Horror Story” Season 8, which is why it’s making quite the buzz after its trailer was released.
It will be interesting to watch what paths the writers took when they wrote this new season given that some of the characters have already been established in the past. And with the fallout narrative added into the picture, the plot just gets more complicated from here. “American Horror Story” Season 8 will also put to the test the acting chops of most the cast members given that they’re performing two characters at once.
