“Agents of Shield” season 6 is expected to return with brand-new superhero stories.Cast member Elizabeth Henstridge (Jemma Simmons) recently shared good news that got fans very excited. She hinted that their series is coming back to the small screen probably in July 2019.
The actress dropped the hint via Instagram. In one of her posts, one follower directly asked her about “Agents of Shield” season 6 release date and she commented that it will be back on ABC at the same time, which means it will be in July again.
How Many Episodes in the New Season
“Agents of Shield” season 6 will only consist of 13 episodes in all. This is fewer than the usual 22 episodes per run but fans could not care less. This is alright, as long as it will still be on the air. Filming for the series already started last month.
Cast
As per EconoTimes, most of the cast members are expected to return in “Agents of Shield” season 6. But there might be little changes, like in the case of Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), who might be on the set but he will be behind the camera monitoring as a director. It is not clear if he will be back as his character in the series but he will surely be directing some episodes.
“Agents of Shield” season 6 will still also still have Henry Simmons (Al MacKenzie), Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May), Chloe Bennet (Daisy Johnson), Iain De Caestecker (Leo Fitz) and Natalia Cordova-Buckley (Yo-Yo Rodriguez).
It was confirmed via Entertainment Weekly that Jeff Ward (Deke Shaw) will not be a guest anymore but his character will now be a regular in “Agents of Shield” season 6. The interview was done during the San Diego Comic-Con in July, where most of the superhero cast members were present.
Premiere Date
Although Elizabeth Henstridge mentioned July 2019 as the possible “Agents of Shield” season 6 air date, ABC has not confirmed anything yet, so there is a chance that this may still change. In any case, ABC’s head of programming, Channing Dungey, revealed that they decided to air the show in summer to increase its chance for another renewal.
