‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ season 4’s episode 8, entitled "The Laws of Inferno Dynamics," will feature the team and Ghost Rider becoming unlikely allies as they attempt to save all of Los Angeles.
The brief synopsis for the winter finale posted on TV.com reads, “In the mid-season finale, S.H.I.E.L.D. teams with Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) as the fate of Los Angeles hangs in the balance.” In the incoming episode, the team will find themselves in an unlikely alliance as they attempt to save the lives of all of Los Angeles, California.
In the preceding episode, entitled "Deals with Our Devils," the team had to deal with the loss of half of their agents while time was running out for Ghost Rider. It featured rogue agent Daisy (Chloe Bennet) returning and teaming up with some former friends to locate Coulson (Clark Gregg), Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), and the Ghost Rider after the trio disappear.
Actress Chloe Bennet revealed during an interview with ET that it was up to her and the rest of the team to figure out what was going on following Eli’s exploitation of Darkhold. She said, “We’re dealing with the Darkhold, which is something that is not really rooted in a science that people can explain... Fitz and Simmons can’t really explain certain things, because part of the Darkhold is unexplainable, and it’s got an air of magic to it.”
She continued, “We definitely have some key members of the team, who would be very helpful in figuring this out, missing and gone… [Episode 7] actually is one of the more unique episodes that I think we’ve ever shot on the show. Technically, and in some of the behind-the-scenes aspects, it was also one of the top ten most difficult to shoot. You’ll kind of see why [in the episode].”
S.H.I.E.L.D.’s new director, Jeffrey Mace (Jason O’Mara), also sent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) on a top-secret mission, where she wasn't told where she was going nor what she was supposed to do.
According to Blastr, it turned out that Mace sent Jemma to help with Senator Rota Nadeer's (Parminder Nagra) Inhuman brother, who was last seen gestating for months in a cocoon. Her new mission is to find out what will become of him after he completes his months-long transformation.
‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ season 4’s episode 8, entitled "The Laws of Inferno Dynamics," is scheduled to air on ABC on December 6, 2016. It was directed by Kevin Tancharoen and written by Paul Zbyszewski.
