Leaked iPad Air 12.9-Inch Renders Suggest Modest Design Tweaks

Unveiling the future: iPad Air 12.9-inch renders depict a refined, all-screen design evolution.

Apple was said to be working on a larger iPad Air with a 12.9-inch display in October of last year. This would make it the largest iPad Air and the first with a 12.9-inch display.

Only the iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch model in Apple's tablet portfolio. This rumor appears to be real since 91mobiles has obtained exclusive renders of the iPad Air 12.9-inch variant.

iPad Air 12.9-inch Renders Reveal Design

The raw CAD renders of the 12.9-inch iPad Air model were revealed by industry sources. The renders offer us an idea of the potential design of the next iPad Air. It resembles the current iPad Air model in its compact frame and all-screen appearance.

The Touch ID button will be located on top of the iPad Air 12.9-inch model, as it was with the previous model. There are speaker grilles on both the top and bottom. On this iPad Air model, the side switch is visible, as is the USB-C port at the bottom.

The iPad Air's rear camera has undergone a modest design update, with a border surrounding the lens and LED flash. When compared to the current iPad Air model, it features a bare camera sensor on the rear.

According to these images, Apple is not planning a substantial design upgrade for the iPad Pro 12.9-inch model. That's logical, given that the iPad Air has already undergone significant design changes, including an all-screen display, a Touch ID button, and flat corners.

iPad Air 12.9-inch’s Anticipated Features and Specifications

Not much information has been released about the 12.9-inch iPad Air model. The original rumor on this was by DigiTimes, which stated that, unlike the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, this one will not have a mini-LED display but will instead include an LCD display similar to the current model.

Apple is likely to release the new iPad Air soon, marking the series' sixth generation. The 12.9-inch iPad Air is also likely to be powered by the M2 chip.
