SAN MATEO, Calif. and TOKYO, Nov. 06, 2017 -- Zoomdata, developers of the world's fastest visual analytics platform for big and streaming data, today announced the formation of Zoomdata Japan K.K. in Tokyo. Earlier this year, Zoomdata announced the appointment of StrategyCore K.K. as Master Distributor for Asia Pacific and Japan. The Tokyo office marks a significant milestone in the company’s global strategy, as Zoomdata furthers efforts to build a strong presence in the Asia Pacific market with substantial technical, commercial and executive resources.
According to IDC, the 2016 Japanese Big Data and Analytics technology and service market size was approximately US$7.8 billion, with a high growth rate of 8.0% compared to the previous year with an increase in hybrid public cloud and on-premise adoption rates. With further expansion of Japanese digital transformation utilizing IoT and AI systems, the Japanese market size is forecast to expand at an annual growth rate of 10.8%, reaching US$13.0 billion market size in 2021. The Tokyo office has seen strong interest coming from the Automotive, IoT and Telecommunications industries.
To better meet the needs of its Japanese customers, Zoomdata is localizing its product into Japanese, which will be available mid-2018. In addition, it is continuing to develop strong local Japanese management and staff. The new office is headed by veteran Asia business intelligence and market entry executive Robert MacGregor, with a team of Japanese staff supporting domestic customers and partners.
“The establishment of a Japanese subsidiary is an important milestone as we scale out our operations in the Japanese market,” said Nick Halsey, CEO of Zoomdata. “We are excited by the early market interest in big data analytics and look forward to developing a strong local presence to support our customers and partners in Japan.”
