WhatsApp is a chat messenger app owned by Facebook. It is now one of the famous chatting apps, apart from Facebook and other platforms. WhatsApp is considered to be the most used chatting service across the globe.
Good news to WhatsApp users! Your prayers have been heard! As the messenger app has finally found a solution to solve the major issues for both Android and iPhone.
Although WhatsApp provides convenience to many users, it has some flaws. In August, Security researcher for Google's Project Zero, Natalie Silvanovich, said on Twitter that WhatsApp was suffering from a compromise at the end of the month. According to the researcher, a "memory corruption bug" was present and could occur if a user answers a phone call from a "malicious peer." She added that the result of the bug was that the device infected would "crash in a few seconds.” The researchers posted code to reproduce the issue to demonstrate the serious vulnerabilities present.
A vulnerability researcher at Google Tavis Ormandy learned this discovery. He declared the issue could "completely compromise WhatsApp." Silvanovich also insisted both Android and iOS devices were being affected.
Thankfully, WhatsApp has now fixed the bug, according to Silvanovich. She said the issue was fixed on September 28 in the Android client. On October 3, the issue on iPhone has been fixed as well.
Recently, WhatsUp will add a picture-in-picture video playback option on Android. In the latest beta for WhatsApp on Android, a picture-in-picture video playback option allows clips to play in a separate window on top of the application. This will be useful for those that want to consume messaging content and compose at the same time, Android Police reported. The source added that the feature works like the iOS version of the chat app as the users can drag the video box around and tap it to play or pause.
