“Westworld” season 3 filming has been delayed a bit due to the Woolsey wildfires that struck California last month. The blaze destroyed the Paramount Ranch where some of the series’ set locations are situated so the production team had to find similar settings for their shoot.
In any case, fans will see big changes when “Westworld” season 3 returns. The plot will be very different from the past seasons and as the drama’s showrunners Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan said, it will be something that the viewers have never seen before since the show debuted.
To give an idea of how different it will be, the duo explained that in “Westworld” season 3, the hosts will have a different outlook and believe a different version of mortality. “They're existential. They span eons. And that's a fascinating level of story to engage in,” Nolan told The Hollywood Reporter.
Moreover, it was learned that “Westworld” season 3 will not feature the same amusement parks anymore. The hosts will move and everyone will head outside of Westworld.
“It’s been a long build-up to get outside the park. And we’re incredibly excited about what that looks like and sounds like and what exactly our hosts discover out there,” Nolan shared in another interview.
Aside from these changes in the plot and setting, “Westworld” season 3 will also introduce new characters. To be more exact, there will be a new villain and the rumor is that Antonio Banderas is being considered for the role.
The “Zorro” actor’s addition to the cast lineup is not yet confirmed but he will surely make a big difference if he will indeed join the team. Moreover, it will be a star-studded lineup since “Breaking Bad’s” Aaron Paul is now part of the sci-fi drama as well. HBO confirmed his participation in September.
Meanwhile, “Westworld” season 3 has no premiere date yet but it was predicted that it would arrive in 2020.
