Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, speaking at a meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah in Sochi denounced downing of Russian fighter Jet by Turkish military planes.
Mr. Putin described this incident not only as tragic but serious, warning that there will be serious consequences for Russian-Turkish relations.
According to Mr. Putin, Russia has always treated as friendly state. While Russia has always respected interests of other states, a crime like todays will never be allowed and today's incident has not been in Russia's interests.
Political analysts point out that, while Turkey has warned in the past that any violations of its airspace would be met with serious consequence, be it anybody, the country should have been more careful before taking such drastic steps.
As of now, it is not quite clear, what steps Mr. Putin might take, economical or military, the latter would have serious consequences and major impact on safe have assets as well as energy market.
