'Vikings: Valhalla' Season 3 Release Date, Cast and Spoilers: All Things Fans Should Know By Now

Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming "Vikings: Valhalla" Season 3.

If you've already seen all of Season 2's tensions and betrayals, the good news is that “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3 has already begun filming. The Netflix series has tracked the rising tensions between the Vikings and the indigenous English, as well as the opposing groups of traditional pagan Vikings and Christians, set more than a century after the events of the Vikings.

Fans nearly lost their minds when “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3 had been confirmed by Netflix. Jeb Stuart's historical drama series was renewed for Seasons 2 and 3 in March 2022, with the second season airing on Netflix on January 12, 2023.

Season 1 began with the St. Brice's Day Massacre in 1002 and has the potential to continue until 1066, which many historians consider the end of the Viking age. It focuses on the exploits of notable Vikings Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eriksdottir, and Harald Sigurdsson. While fans wait for additional information, here is all we know thus far about “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3.

Vikings: Valhalla’ Season 3 Release Date

The teaser's title board stated that “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3 will not air until 2024, despite the fact that Seasons 2 and 3 were renewed and filmed close together, leading many to predict a 2023 premiere, per EpicFlix. “Vikings: Valhalla” series’ spectacular and deadly third installment will be accessible to stream on Netflix, where the first two seasons are also available.

“Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3 production began in Ireland in May 2022, far from the series' true setting in Scandinavia. The cinematographers, on the other hand, do an excellent job of immersing the audience in the frozen islands' mossy forests and gorgeous seascapes. The production wrapped in October 2022, after five months of filming on the Emerald Isle.

While there is no fear of performers fleeing the set now that shooting is complete, Netflix is likely to delay the release of “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3 episodes until the cast and crew can properly promote it, as SAG strike guidelines encompass all parts of promoting their work.

Vikings: Valhalla’ Season 3 Cast

In “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3, Sam Corlett, who plays Leif Eriksson, Frida Gustavsson, who plays Freydis, and Leo Suter, who plays Harald, will all reprise their roles as our three favorite Viking warriors, per Collider. Among those expected to return for the new installment are Bradley Freegard as King Canute, Laura Berlin as Queen Emma of Normandy, David Oakes as Earl Godwin, Florian Munteanu as George Maniakes, and Joakim Nattererup as Birkir.

The second season saw its fair share of deaths and dismemberments. Because their characters perished in the season two finale, it is reasonable to expect that Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, who played Olaf, Stanislav Callas, who played Jorundr, and Hayat Kamille, who played Mariam, will not return for “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3.

Vikings: Valhalla’ Season 3 Spoilers

To recall, Season 2 ended with Freydis, Leif, and Harold on separate adventures. Fans are eager to find out if Freydis and her son's father, Harald, will reconcile in “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3.

Freydis kept her pregnancy a secret from Harald after discovering it in the Season 2 premiere. This could have been perceived as a betrayal by Harald. In “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3, audiences will have to wait to learn if the pair reconciles or if Harald's heart has been grabbed by someone else. Meanwhile, a devastated Leif must journey to the home of his ex-lover Mariam to acquire many things that would aid him on his big explorer expeditions.

As seen in the trailer, Leif and Harold will be reunited, but the perilous journey will keep fans guessing as to how and where this will happen. The Vikings are expected to leave Scandinavia and trek across the ocean to new territories in “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3. Viewers can see a beachfront castle encircled by tall stone walls, red and purple flags flying in the breeze, and hands moving across a map in the sneak peek posted on Netflix's Twitter page.

While it is still unknown what new land the “Vikings: Valhalla” Season 3 explorers will discover, historical evidence suggests that they will explore Newfoundland. While the hunt for fresh land continues, the struggle over Norway will continue, as will the action-packed bloodshed. However, land issues will not be the only ones to drag on, as the Vikings will continue to struggle over their split Pagan and Christian faiths.
