Ukraine's Independence Day festival to witness purchases in cryptocurrencies

Tethys Festival, a two-day event to be held in Ukraine’s island in the center of Kiev, has announced that it will feature bitcoin purchases apart from music, entertainment, innovation, and technology.

The event website stated that as a part of Ukraine’s Independence Day celebrations, the event will take place on 23-24 August in the territory's largest base on Trukhanov Island. The festival also supports Ethereum and NXT cryptocurrencies apart from bitcoins.

“All purchasing transactions at the festival, in addition to the traditional method, can be made through cryptocurrency Bitcoin, Ethereum, NXT,” the website stated (loosely translated).

The festival is organized by Gesellberg and has partnered with firms including Bitsushi, Mapples, and Blockchain Conference Kyiv among others. It will gather hundreds of young people together to have fun, learn about the latest technologies and play a holiday Independence Day of Ukraine (loosely translated).

With over 3000 members, 30 exhibitors, 50 DJ’s and 15 workshops; the conference will have Techno Shop that will have presentation technique and innovative projects and services. It will feature performances by local electronic bands, DJ’s and non-stop music and disco on the beach. It will also have sales of small technological novelties and souvenirs that can be purchased using the digital currencies. With food court, specializing in a variety of cuisines, there will also be a treasure hunt event where hidden CashBoxes will be kept on the island and those who find them within the specified time will be awarded (loosely translated).
