U.S. under Trump Series: China to replace Russia as number one enemy under Trump administration

The sharp and bitter tweets of the President-elect Donald Trump shows that while he would play a crucial role in reversing the decades-long Russia hate policies of the United States, he would replace the former number one enemy with a new one; and that is China. Throughout his Presidential campaign, he has been very Critical of China, its currency and trade policies.

In response to China’s criticism of a call between the President-elect Donald Trump and Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen, Mr. Trump tweeted that China won’t be dictating who the President-elect would talk to and he doesn’t see the need to abide by ‘One China’ policy if China continues to take unfair trade advantages and continue to build massive military complexes in the South China sea. Donald Trump has also picked Robert Lighthizer, who was Deputy U.S. Trade Representative under President Reagan and is well known for his criticism of China as the US trade envoy. He has also indicated that he would renegotiate trade deals which he doesn’t seem fair to the United States and might impose tariffs on goods coming from China. He has already threatened US companies with punitive tariffs, who have been relocating to countries like China and Mexico and sell back their products back to the United States.

The new administration is all ready to fight out the influence and prowess of China at Global stage, just like the US did with Russia for decades.
