During the third Presidential debate, Republican candidate Donald Trump refused to confirm that he would accept the outcome in the general election on the November 8th . When asked by moderator Chris Wallace during the debate whether he would accept the election result no matter how tough was the race Mr. Trump finally said that he would see at that point and keep all in suspense for the time being. Media went crazy after that accusing Mr. Trump of trying to disturb the tradition of peaceful transition of power. Yet, at a rally after the debate, Mr. Trump went further in taunting the opposition and the media by saying that he would wholeheartedly accept the result of the election only if he wins.
He later explained that he has the constitutional right to do so (for example he can file a lawsuit and call for recounting) and he would abide by the law. The crowd cheered for him. Hillary Clinton may legitimately win the White House on November 8th, but the cheering supporters (who are also Americans) show that many aren’t opposed to his idea and accusation of a rigged election.
So, why do we think that Donald Trump and his cheering supporters are right and major mainstream media are so wrong on this one?
- It has now been proved that Democratic National Committee Chair Debbi Wasserman Schultz worked to rig the democratic primary in favor of Hillary Clinton. And after stepping down from her post, she is now part of the Clinton campaign.
- Donna Brazile, who served as the interim chair after Ms. Schultz, provided questions to Hillary Clinton campaign before a primary debate.
- It was also revealed that the Clinton campaign paid people to disrupt Trump rallies and cause violence.
- In addition to that, a study by well-respected Pew Research Center showed that millions of people who are registered as voters are dead. Some have been dead for decades.
- Hillary Clinton’s chairman of the campaign John Podesta said that it is ok for illegal immigrants to vote, as long as they have drivers’ license. That would be several million people.
Given the above circumstance and more, when Mr. Trump says that Hillary Clinton’s corrupted campaign would do anything to come to power, the crowd naturally cheers. Those who accuse Mr. Trump of being undemocratic forgets that democracy means that he gets to exercise his constitutional rights to call for recounting. And Mr. Trump isn’t someone who would give up that right.
