US Presidential Election Series: Clinton email scandal resurfaces as Halloween horror

The email scandal of Hillary Clinton came back to haunt her presidential campaign over the Halloween weekend as the Federal Bureau of Investigation found new email evidence and reopened the case. FBI director who was under sharp criticism from congress over his handling of the email investigation, sent a letter to congress on Friday saying that new email evidence has surfaced and he is re-opening the probe.

It was a bombshell that showed that this year’s election will remain full of surprises till the very end. Just 11 days to go to the election, this re-opening has plunged the Clinton campaign into full chaos and Republican candidate Donald Trump has seized the opportunity, smelling blood in the water. He called Hillary’s scandal as bigger than Watergate.

Democrats, who have been praising the actions of the director James Comey of the FBI so far, including people from the Clinton campaign, such as Vice Presidential candidate Tim Kaine have now all pounced on the director over his actions. They have accused him of being political and breaking the law of not influencing the election.

However, it is futile to blame director Comey, who found 650,000 emails with relation to Clinton’s email server during the investigation of Anthony Weiner, the former husband of Huma Abedin, the closest Clinton aide. It is also important to remember that none of those emails were written by Director Comey using a private email server illegally.
