US Election Series: Clinton camp in panic

In the recent past, campaign people at Hillary Clinton have been acting as if they have won. Liberal news media like CNN, MSNBC which have been accused of acting as an extension of the Clinton campaign have counted out Trump and have been falling just short of declaring victory for the Democrats. Yet, looking at the stuff the Clinton campaign has been throwing at Donald Trump recently, anyone with some common sense can easily feel some panic on the Democratic side. We don’t know what may cause that, probably the record turnout at early voting. Historically Democrats have done well in the early voting and Republican do well on the D-day but this year that is not being the case according to reports.

We saw a story on the website of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), a well-respected news organization which made us think, why the ghost of the past is being brought back. It talks that the Muslim father (khan) of a deceased soldier, with whom, Donald Trump was engaged in a bitter feud just after the Democratic convention that caused big drops in ratings for Donald Trump. The issue was far over. So why bring him back? We couldn’t help ourselves but to read the story and after reading that we felt what anybody with common sense would feel.

The story, which is available here, http://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-37790832 , says that the soldier’s father Khizr Khan felt that Mr. Trump’s remarks that had he been the President, Captain Khan would be alive today as there won’t be a horrible mistake like Iraq war. No sensible person would find anything cruel about these remarks because it would have been a wonderful thing if Captain Khan would be alive. They would also not understand why a respected news organization as the BBC would fail to mention that it was Mrs. Clinton who dragged the topic during the Presidential debate, which for the first time triggered these comments from Mr. Trump.

While Mr. Khan respectfully entitled to his opinion and feelings, it is not wondrous though that he would feel disgusted over Trump’s comments as he campaigns for the Clintons. When a camp brings out the ghost from the past without valid grounds and arguments, it definitely is a sign of weakness and fear.
