U.S. New home sales growth seen strong in 2015

The number of newly construction buildings going to contract in the U.S. are expected to increase by 5.1 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 515000, marking the strongest sales activity since February 2015, says Nordea Markets.

"If our forecast is on the mark, the number of new homes sold rose by 13% during 2015 to an eight-year high of 497,000", it added.

The stock of available homes on the market is seen rising by 5,000 to 237,000 during the period in question, meaning the number of unsold dwellings likely edged two ticks lower to 5.5 months' supply.
