UK unemployment keeps on falling but earnings growth

The UK economy is growing strongly, productivity growth remains close to zero and so the steady increase in demand is driving employment ever higher and unemployment ever lower to 1.86mn.

"This has taken the unemployment rate down to 5.7% by January and it should fall further to 5.6% in the February data released this week, the momentum of the downtrend in unemployment will be reiterated by yet another fall in the claimant count by 30k in March after 31k in February", says Societe Generale.
