Turkish consumer sentiment remains almost unchanged in February

Turkish consumer sentiment remains widely unchanged in February. The consumer sentiment index dropped 0.1 percent sequentially to 72.25, showed Turkish Statistical Institute. The financial situation expectation of household index rose 0.2 percent to 91.3. The increase resulted from the rise of consumers expecting better financial situation of household in the next 12 months period.

The general economic situation expectation index rose 0.7 percent to 96.8 in February. The rise stemmed from the rise of consumers expecting a better general economic situation in the coming 12 months compared to the earlier month.

The number of people unemployed expectation index fell 0.9 percent as compared to the earlier month and became 75.3 in February. This fall came from the decrease of people expecting a decrease in the number of unemployed persons in the coming 12 months.

The probability of saving index dropped 1.9 percent to 25.7 in February. This fall stemmed from the decrease of consumers who expressed probability saving for the next 12 months period.
