U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that Iran is eager to reach an agreement with the United States, expressing confidence that a potential deal would benefit both Washington and its allies despite ongoing military tensions between the two countries.
In a post published on Truth Social shortly after midnight, Trump stated that Iran is seeking a diplomatic resolution and suggested that negotiations could lead to a favorable outcome for all parties involved. His remarks came just hours after the U.S. military announced strikes on Iranian military targets over the weekend. In response, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they had launched attacks against a U.S. military base, marking the latest escalation in the three-month-long conflict.
“Iran really wants to make a deal, and it will be a good one for the U.S.A. and those that are with us,” Trump wrote, signaling optimism about ongoing diplomatic efforts despite the volatile situation.
The president also addressed criticism surrounding the pace and direction of negotiations with Tehran. Trump argued that constant political commentary and public pressure make it more difficult to manage discussions effectively. According to him, critics have repeatedly urged conflicting approaches, ranging from accelerating negotiations to pursuing military action or avoiding conflict altogether.
Trump emphasized that outside opinions often complicate the negotiation process, making it harder for him to carry out his responsibilities. Nevertheless, he sought to reassure the public that the situation would ultimately be resolved successfully.
“Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end — It always does!” Trump said in the social media post.
The latest comments follow Trump’s statement on Friday that he would soon make a decision regarding a proposed agreement aimed at extending the ceasefire with Iran. The development comes as international observers closely monitor U.S.-Iran relations and efforts to prevent further escalation in the region while pursuing a long-term diplomatic solution.
