“The Walking Dead” Season 8 Spoilers: King Ezekiel Actor Teases Filming; Josh McDermitt Quits Social Media Over Death Threats Towards Character; Is Kirkman’s Next Victim In Comics Foreshadows Another Major Death In The Series?

Filming for Season 8 of the AMC zombie drama “The Walking Dead” has definitely started, according to one cast member.

Khary Payton, who plays the dreadlocked King Ezekiel in the series, snapped and shared a photo of his shadowed self in full costume on Twitter and added a caption, which read, “& we start once more for the fallen…”

But if there’s one other actor who might not be too happy about the show’s effect on fans upon its return is Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene in the series. The actor filmed a Facebook Live video, which UPI noted to be his final social media post over threats on his life following his character portrayal on the show. McDermitt’s Eugene is now considered a villain at this point in “The Walking Dead,” and some passionate fans seems to have expressed their resentment towards McDermitt’s character in real life.

"Death threats, don't send me death threats, because I will -- I'm gonna report all that [expletive] to the cops. I'm just sick of it. You can hate Eugene, I don't care. I'll argue that you're wrong, but you can think whatever you want. But when you start saying you hope I die, I don't know if you're talking about Josh or Eugene. I gotta report that [expletive]," McDermitt said.

In Issue #165, a character named Andrea gets bitten by a walker while trying to save Eugene. Although the Andrea in the AMC series already died in Season 3, Express points out the fact that the Andrea storyline in the series closely follows Michonne’s (Danai Gurira).

Although this is speculation, we may have to wait for Season 8 to see whether this theory would play out.
