Netflix's breakout Marvel hit may have been quiet since filming for “The Punisher” season 2 wrapped up last Aug. 11, but the show has been particularly liberal about releasing on-set photos of its cast.

Just early into “The Punisher” season 2's filming, videos of Ben Barnes's Jigsaw were posted on social media, giving fans a glimpse of an intense scene involving Frank Castle and his former comrade-in-arms in broad daylight.

After Jason R. Moore – who plays Frank Castle's (John Bernthal) confidante and ally, Curtis Hoyle – posted a picture announcing the official end of shooting for “The Punisher” season 2, clearer pictures of Frank Castle wearing the iconic “The Punisher” skull vest in broad daylight started circulating on social media.

While most of the on-set photos feature the continuing conflict between Castle and Jigsaw, fans can still hold out for hope that “The Punisher” season 2 might bring in more villains for Frank Castle to confront. The series's showrunner, Steven Lightfoot, has already expressed interest in the past to bring in Barracuda and Frank Castle's fellow vigilante, Kathryn O'Brien.

John Bernthal has also shared that he would like to see Vincent D'Onofrio reprise his role as the Kingpin on the show, as well as getting Barracuda in “The Punisher” season 2. Still, it seems that the show is not letting fans have the pleasure of finding out anything about the upcoming installment that isn't already public knowledge. To date, no production shots have leaked to confirm or deny the presence of Barracuda, Kingpin, or Kathryn O'Brien appearing in “The Punisher” season 2.

While an official availability date for “The Punisher” season 2 has yet to be announced by Netflix, fans of the traumatized and violent vigilante can look forward to the show returning sometime in 2019, potentially a few months after “Daredevil” season 3 returns to stream on Netflix.
