‘The Flash’ Season 3, Episode 17 Spoilers: “Duet” Concludes Special Musical Crossover Event with ‘Supergirl’; Barry, Kara Sent to Alternate Reality with No Superpowers

‘The Flash’ season 3’s episode 17, titled “Duet,” will conclude the two-part special musical crossover event with another The CW show, ‘Supergirl,’ which stars Melissa Benoist in the title role. The episode will feature Barry and Kara as they are sent to an alternate reality by the Music Meister.

Kara and Barry will then discover that they have no superpowers in the alternate reality and will need to follow a script to get back to the real world and escape death.

The synopsis for episode 17 posted on TV Guide reads, “A crossover episode with "Supergirl" concludes. Barry (Grant Gustin) and his team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her.

However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script.”

The upcoming episode will make up the second part of the two-part crossover musical event between The CW’s ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl.’ Fans of the popular television show ‘Glee,’ will be excited to find that Benoist, Gustin, and Criss will reunite to bring together a fun action-packed episode that features elements of a musical production.

The previous episode of ‘Supergirl’ followed Kara as she was rendered unconscious by the evil Music Meister, according to Mic. Her allies will take her to Barry in an attempt to save her but Barry will also get trapped in the same predicament along the way. Together, Kara and Barry wake up in an alternate reality where they are stripped of their superpowers.

Kara and Barry will have to navigate through a different world in order to escape the clutches of the latest villain. The promo opens to Barry asking Kara, “What the hell is going on?” Music Meister informs them that they are in a musical and all they need to do is follow the script.

It seems that the two will be caught in the middle of old-timey mob wars. Music Meister warns, “Although I should mention that if you die in here, you die out there.” It will be interesting to see how the two superheroes manage to survive their current situation without the use of their powers.

‘The Flash’ season 3’s episode 17, titled “Duet,” is scheduled to air on The CW on March 21, 2017. It was directed by Dermott Downs with a story by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing. It will be followed by episode 17, titled "Abra Kadabra," directed by Nina Lopez-Corrado and scheduled to be released on March 28.
