The Block Chain Conference To Take Place On February 10 In San Francisco

The Block Chain Conference, produced by Lighthouse Partners, is scheduled to take place on February 10th, 2016 at the Mission Bay Conference Center, located on the UCSF Mission Bay Campus in San Francisco. It is expected to play an important role in accelerating the development and deployment of block chain-based approaches by global businesses, and highlighting relevant use cases for several vertical industries.

“The Block Chain Conference is the first business and block chain-focused event to bring together the IT establishment - enterprise users and the vendors that service them - and innovative startups creating the block chain future”, the website reads.

John Wolpert, IBM’s Global Blockchain Offering Director, will be delivering the keynote titled “How to Make Block Chain Real for Business” and will provide IBM’s point of view on the potential of block chain technology, underscoring IBM’s recently announced Open Ledger Project.

Besides IBM’s keynote, the program will also include exciting conversation on topics such as avoiding the pointless block chain project, six valued features and five disruptive implications of block chain technology, the evolution of trust, an ownership layer for the internet, why most fortune 500 companies will use block chains, Smart Contracts for Delivery vs. Payment (DVP), running Ethereum financial apps on Microsoft's Azure Cloud, how smart contracts enable trustless business, Ethereum overview and applications and much more.

“A key mission of The Block Chain Conference is to educate business innovators and technology architects from companies deploying enterprise IT on the potential benefits and challenges of leveraging block chains, distributed ledgers and smart contracts,” said Conference Chair Peter Harris.

In addition to Wolpert, some prominent industry figures will be speaking at the event including Pete Harris, Principal of Lighthouse Partners; John Bertrand, Industry Value Engineer-Banking at SAP; Ethan Buchman, Tendermint co-founder; Olaf Carlson-Wee, Head of Risk at Coinbase, Tiana Laurence, Factom Founder; Chris Larsen, Co-founder and CEO of Ripple and many others.
