Suri Cruise has been living with her mom, Katie Holmes, in New York City since the actress got divorced from Tom Cruise. But there have been rumors recently that the actor suddenly wanted to be reunited with her youngest daughter.
Earlier this month, a report from the tabloid Star claimed that Suri spent a week with Tom before the New Year’s. The would mean that the rumored reunion happened at the same time when Holmes was spending a romantic Miami getaway with Jamie Foxx.
“Tom’s had moments of attentiveness toward Suri since he and Katie split in 2012, and Katie’s never stopped Suri from seeing her dad, but she’s pretty stunned that Tom’s choosing to be present in her life at this time,” an insider said. The purported reunion had also reportedly convinced Tom to purchase a house in New York City to be with her daughter frequently.
However, Gossip Cop pointed out that Orlando being the place of the supposed reunion is the first inaccuracy in the report. The publication clarified that Tom bought a property in Clearwater, Florida in a complex owned by the Church of Scientology — not in Orlando.
An official representative for Holmes also told the fact-checking news outlet that Suri has not seen his father for years, not even during the holidays last year. And even though Holmes did spend a week away with Foxx, her social media page showed she immediately traveled to be with Suri. The mother and daughter went on a ski vacation to celebrate the New Year’s with some of the young girl’s friends.
Neither Holmes nor Tom has ever publicly discussed their divorce as well as the custody arrangements they had in place. But it is quite obvious that the actress got primary physical and legal custody of their 12-year-old daughter. In October 2018, Us Weekly reported that Tom is legally allowed to visit Suri every month and spend up to 10 days with his daughter. But the actor has allegedly chosen not to see Suri “in years.”
