There were questions if “Steven Universe” season 6 is still happening there is no new update from the production team. What’s more, Cartoon Network has not renewed the show yet and if they are indeed bringing the show back, then it is really taking a long time for the network to make an official announcement.
But while this is the case, there is some assurance that “Steven Universe” season 6 is still in the cards. Rebecca Sugar, the series’ creator, once said that the previous sequel, which is the fifth installment, is surely not the last in the series, Den of Geek reported.
The news outlet reported that during a podcast interview, Sugar and former executive producer, Ian Jones-Quartey, said that the finale of season 5 has a continuation. By saying this, they just revealed some hint on “Steven Universe” season 6’s plot.
Jones-Quartey further shared that fans can expect something new in “Steven Universe” season 6. In fact, the difference is set to be the highlight of the upcoming episodes and this is connected to how Steven will live his life from now on.
"There is going to be more, but it's going to be different and it's going to be something new so there is a lot more to do," he said. “I don't think it's a spoiler to say that this specific arc of Steven, 'Change Your Mind' definitively makes a definitive statement on Steven and who he is and what he thinks he is.”
Meanwhile, there is also the “Steven Universe: The Movie” to watch out for. Although fans are waiting for “Steven Universe” season 6, it is likely that Rebecca Sugar and the team are releasing the movie version first before the series could return to Cartoon Network. This means that if the movie will arrive in the latter part of the year, then the sixth season is likely to arrive early next year.
