Russian event calls for Fintech startup projects

Finopolis 2016, an event to be held in the city of Kazan in Russia on 13 and 14 October this year, has called for fintech projects as a part of its FinTech startup competition.

According to the event website, the goal of the competition is to develop the innovative environment by expanding the number of high-tech projects, which are of interest to venture investors, corporations, and public customers. The key focus is on the support of promising projects in the fintech industry, that promotes electronic interaction in the financial market.

The competition will have two key mentors Alexander Galitsky, a well-known innovator, entrepreneur, and investor and a Managing Partner of Almaz Capital Partners; and Mikhail Erenburg, senior managing director of IT finance and partners in Sberbank Russia.

Being one of the largest fintech events of the year, participants get a unique platform for communication between businesses and public authorities. They get the chance to announce their ideas and projects to the panel and get feedbacks, recommendations from experienced entrepreneurs and experts in the field.

In order to participate in the competition, applicants need to apply on the website of a co-organizer, Generation S accelerator, before 12 September 2016. 

The event is hosted by the Bank of Russia and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Finopolis 2016 event will address on pressing issues like improving the accessibility of financial services and tools; presenting new local and foreign products and infrastructure decisions related to the financial market's digitalization and ensuring automation of all aspects of a modern financial entity's operations, among others.
