‘Rick and Morty’ Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers: Plot Predictions and Latest Updates to Know

“Rick and Morty” season 4 was renewed in May and following the announcement, fans are now eagerly waiting for its actual telecast. Since the renewal, so far, the latest update from Adult Swim is an anime-like video teaser where the cast is shown imitating some Marvel superheroes.

As previously noted by EconoTimes, Rick looks and acts like X-Men’s Cyclops and Morty gets a tamer part when he appears to be his grandpa’s sidekick. The release of this clip did not provide much detail but at least it confirmed that Adult Swim, together with creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, is busy at work on “Rick and Morty” season 4.

Season 5 Renewal and Episodes

Co-creator Justin Roiland revealed that a total of 70 episodes were ordered from them and since one season usually has 10 episodes, this could mean that fans can look forward to as many as six more seasons after “Rick and Morty” season 4.

Although it was not stated how the 70 episodes are going to be distributed, it is possible that they will extend every season by adding a few more episodes. Then again, even if this is what they are planning to do, the number of ordered episodes still confirms prolonged airing of the series.

Plot

“Rick and Morty” season 4 is expected to answer some burning questions that were raised when Season 3 concluded. It should also tie loose ends regarding Evil Morty’s fate and whether Beth’s clone really exists. What’s more, Jerry and Beth’s divorce appeared to have been canceled so the Smith family will definitely continue with their adventures in the upcoming installment.

Release Date

“Rick and Morty” season 4’s release date is one of the most discussed topics among fans. There were many predictions suggesting an early premiere but according to the show’s writer, Ryan Ridley, the fourth season will not arrive any sooner than 2019.

Speaking to Detroit Cast, Ridley stated, “They really take their time. I never understood why everybody - all parties, Dan Harmon, Justin Roiland and Adult Swim — didn’t get their s**t together and make the show fast. It doesn’t make any sense to me but I’m sure they all have their reasons.”

Meanwhile, “Rick and Morty” took home the award for the Outstanding Animated Program at the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The series won for its season 3 episode titled “Pickle Rick.”
