Polish online food service Pyszne.pl accepts bitcoin payments

One of Poland’s largest website for online food ordering, Pyszne.pl, announced that it is now accepting bitcoin payments for all orders.

The company has decided to accept bitcoin payments due to its features like rapid transfer to any place in the world bypassing banks and intermediaries, and costly commissions, limits, among others. Also, as the price of bitcoin is drastically increasing day-by-day, more people are adapting to digital currency transactions. According to Business Insider, over the last three months, the price of the digital currency grew by 88.4 percent.

“Fortunately Pyszne.pl pizza is much cheaper. 1 bitcoin exchange rate fluctuates between 9,000 and $ 10,000, so the pizza for an average value of 25 zł Purchaser will pay less than three thousandths of bitcoin,” the company announcement said (loosely translated).

Pyszne.pl offers wide range of options in terms of payment methods. Currently, food service can be ordered through cash on delivery as well as by selecting one of the online payment methods including credit card, high-speed Internet transfer, PayPal, Allegro, and through bitcoin. In addition to it, the company is offering Android mobile application for its users that is available for payment through ‘Android Pay’ option.

Poland has always been in the forefront of bitcoin revolution. Last year April, Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs (MDA) considered bitcoin and blockchain technology in an aim to create a digital boost for the development of the country. Earlier this year, Poland’s Central Statistical Office recognized the trading and mining of digital currencies as an official activity. Also, the government has been releasing various documents clarifying the legal status of bitcoin in the country.
