Polish industrial production likely to have grown moderately in September, retail sales to have slowed down

Polish industrial production data, along with the PPI data and retail sales data are set to be released this week. According to an Erste Group Research, the industrial production is likely to have grown just 3.3 percent year-on-year in September, given the calendar effect and deteriorating market sentiment. Industrial output would be sustaining the recently observed downward trend. The PPI is expected to have remained rather stable and rise 2.9 percent in the month on a year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, Polish retail sales growth is expected to have decelerated a bit in September to 8.5 percent year-on-year from 9 percent in August, stated Erste Group Research. Market expectations are for the growth to slow down to 8.1 percent.

“We remain fairly optimistic about retail sales growth, as the overall level of HH spending is supported by the favorable situation on the labor market and solid wage growth”, added Erste Group Research.
