Global digital payments provider Paysafe announced the appointment of digital technology innovator and former CIO of Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) Tim Thurman, as the company’s Chief Digital Officer, in a move to drive the group’s digital transformation to a next level.

Thurman, who will be joining the company by the end of this month, will be responsible for driving and taking forward the development and deployment of Paysafe’s digital technology abilities and payment solutions for businesses and consumers worldwide. Thurman will be reporting to Paysafe President and CEO Joel Leonoff and will be working from Paysafe’s Montreal office.

“As a proven leader in digital transformation projects at scale, Tim’s technology, product, and commercial expertise, make him the ideal person to take our digital payments development to the next level and cement Paysafe’s pioneering technology leadership,” Joel Leonoff, stated.

Having over 20 years of experience in the fintech arena, Thurman served as Chief Information Officer for five years at the Australian Securities Exchange. During his tenure, he was instrumental in defining and executing the ASX Technology Transformation Strategy. He also chaired the Government Advisory Board for the New South Wales Data Analytics Centre (DAC). Bringing leadership and technical guidance to DAC, he ensured that the data sharing between the government agencies was efficient and strategic.

“Paysafe has been at the forefront of transforming the payments landscape for many years. I am delighted to be joining the payments group at such an exciting time and look forward to working with Joel and the Paysafe teams around the world to help drive the evolution of the online and digital payments business, Thurman commented.
