Over 30 experts to speak at Shanghai’s International Blockchain Week

The International Blockchain Week in Shanghai, which will take place this year at Hyatt on the Bund from September 19 to 24, has listed more than 30 confirmed speakers who are expertise in the blockchain field.

The Ethereum Foundation and Wanxiang Blockchain Labs jointly announced the International Blockchain Week earlier in April. It is funded by Wanxiang Holdings, one of China’s giant conglomerates and China’s biggest backer of blockchain technology.

The official website has provided the confirmed list of guest speakers including representatives like Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum; John Whelan, head of blockchain labs at Santander Bank; Darwin Tang, blockchain team China partner from Ernest and Young Global among other well known pioneers in the industry.

“We have confirmed guests from overseas who are experts in this field. We hope to bring them here and show the Chinese audience, including industry and regulators, what is going on outside and bring our foreign friends into China to show them what’s going on within China,” a spokesperson for Wanxiang Blockchain Labs spoke to Cryptocoinsnews.com.

This is the second Global Blockchain Summit in Shanghai following last years’ that took place on October. The upcoming summit is expected to receive more attention from leaders in the industry.

“Banks, government, and other financial institutions started to pay attention to blockchain (not just Bitcoin) only since our first conference last year in Shanghai,” the spokesperson added. “There has been a lot of progress overall in China in such a short time indeed and we hope this can develop into something concrete and beneficial to the financial industry.”

The week-long blockchain event is a combination of Devcon2 and 2nd Global Blockchain Summit. The event will feature a unique three-segment format. Attendees can attend any combination of days best suited to their needs.
