“One Punch Man” Season 2 will be introducing a new character in the form of Garou, Bang’s former pupil and considered to be one of the greatest threats to the Hero Association. Although this character has been portrayed in the manga as evil, he’s not thoroughly devoid of morality.

For instance, he has repeatedly shown compassion towards Tareo by conversing with him, although it wasn’t completely out of kindness. Garou also doesn’t kill heroes but will also not lift a finger if a hero’s life is in peril either. This antagonist will be one of the most interesting facets that “One Punch Man” Season 2 will bring, especially as he’s going to be trading blows with multiple S-Class heroes as some point in the installment.

But perhaps the most intriguing thing about this character is the speculation that he’s, in fact, the prophesized threat foreseen by Lady Shibabawa. In a nutshell, the prophecy dictates that the end of the Earth will be heralded by a particular monster. While Garou has been portrayed as a human, his perspective is different which fans will discover in “One Punch Man” Season 2.

Due to the bullying he received when he was a child, Garou doesn’t identify with heroes and humans but aligns himself with monsters instead. And this is why some fans of the series are assuming that Garou will fulfill Shibabwa’s prophecy, especially since the character doesn’t seem to have any limitations at all. This is apparent when he was pushed to the precipice of death and started to evolve. This evolution is one of the most engaging panels in the manga and J.C. Staff will need to step up their game in “One Punch Man” Season 2 to truly capture Garou’s transformation.

This character is also a great antagonist pitted against Saitama since they both went through the same bullying phase when they were a child. The difference, of course, is that Saitama overcame his ordeal while Garou fixated on it. “One Punch Man” Season 2 will certainly be quite the installment to follow when it finally airs on April 2019.
