Despite Nintendo acting as if no new system is in the works, it appears that the company's new console will be released in 2024, as the “Resident Evil 3” remake director told Japanese publication 4gamer how this year will bring new consoles and new indie titles, without mentioning it explicitly.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has piqued the interest of several Japanese developers. Fumihiko Yasuda, director of the “Nioh” series and the upcoming “Rise of the Ronin” for Koei Tecmo stated that his team is excited to see what the new systems and titles will bring.

While he did not address the new Nintendo system, Kenichi Ogasaware, another Koei Tecmo developer, did, stating that the new console has already gotten a lot of attention. Yusuke Katakata of “Spike Chunsoft” also expressed his enthusiasm for the Nintendo Switch 2.

As previously reported by WCCFTech, the new Nintendo console has yet to be formally disclosed; therefore, all of its details are unknown.
