NFT: BitTrunks launching the world’s first digital art painted by an elephant

BitTrunks is the Elephant Art Online’s (EAO) NFT unit, and it has announced the launch of its new non-fungible token featuring art that was painted by an elephant. The item would be the very first NFT artwork in the world that was made by the largest living animal today.

The newest NFT art was created by the 7-year-old elephant named Tunwa. He was born and raised at the Maetaeng Elephant Park & Clinic located in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Tunwa’s digital art was described as unlike anything that was ever seen in the world of art before. His NFT package will feature a video and pictures of how the elephant made his art piece. People will be amazed at how he was able to control paintbrushes and form the drawings on the canvas with nice color combinations as well.

Tunwa (TW) painted the “Tree of Life” painting using his long trunk. He skillfully controls, moves, and dabs just enough paint to complete his masterpiece. As posted on EAO’s website, this child elephant has been painting for about three years now.

Moreover, BitTrunks’ new NFT featuring Tunwa’s art will also come with extra valuable content such as outtakes of Tunwa while painting, his daily life with clips of him interacting with other elephants. A digitally verifiable certificate of authenticity or QR Code of the painting will also be provided.

“We are thrilled to present to collectors and investors alike the first tokenized painting made by the most talented and artistic elephant in the world,” BitTrunks co-head, Dwain Schenck, said in a press release. “This marks a first in the NFT space for the world’s largest land mammal to create a non-fungible token whose qualities rivals that of a human artist.”

Schenck added that Tunwa’s NFT is also a historically unique investment where some of the sales proceeds will go to the elephant park to help support the place where Tunwa and over 80 elephants live. BitTrunks will also direct some of the money to a medical clinic that the park is also running.

Finally, as posted on OpenSea NFT marketplace, the auction for BitTrunk’s TW “Tree of Life” NFT art will open on Oct. 28 at 9:30 a.m. ET and it will close on Nov. 4 at 12 p.m. EST. Aside from the ownership of the NFT, the winner will receive the physical canvas of Tunwa’s painting.
