Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's Latest Move Branded as 'Smack of Desperation'

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly planning to rejoin the royal family.

A royal insider claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s “endgame” is to return to the royal family. Following a birthday phone call for King Charles' 75th birthday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were claimed to have repaired their relations, sparking speculations about a possible return.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Plans to Rejoin Royal Family?

A royal insider claims that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s "endgame" is to rejoin the Royal Family. This speculation was further fueled by journalist and royal commentator Richard Eden, who expressed skepticism about the couple's motivations, suggesting that their actions seem driven by a desire to maintain a lucrative connection to the monarchy.

Richard's comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, made on the Palace Confidential Podcast, reflect a broader narrative about the complex and evolving relationship between the Sussexes and the Royal Family. "To me, it smacks of desperation. It smacks of Harry and Meghan wanting to come back [into] the Royal Family,” the royal expert stated, per Express UK.

"They want to keep that link to the royals. We don't have Meghan sending videos of her children singing happy birthday to her father. He's been cut out, no one cares about him. But when it comes to the King and that connection - a connection which as we know is very lucrative when it comes to Netflix deals etc - they seem very keen to maintain that and it does seem desperate,” Richard furthered.

Meghan Markle Accused of Using ‘Typical Celebrity Move’

Meanwhile, a PR expert expressed his opinion on the unexpected appearance of Meghan Markle at a gala hosted by Variety in Los Angeles last week. The event marked Meghan's return to the red carpet, reminiscent of her days as an actress in the popular US drama "Suits."

Her attendance at the gala, without Prince Harry, was highlighted by her enthusiasm about being back in the entertainment sphere. On the red carpet, Meghan expressed her excitement about returning to the world of entertainment and hinted at upcoming projects that she and Prince Harry are working on. She emphasized the importance of community support in amplifying work and creativity.

Andy Barr, CEO and co-founder of 10yetis.co.uk, commented on Meghan Markle's approach, noting the difficult position she and Harry often find themselves in with regard to the UK press. According to Barr, had the couple announced their plans beforehand, it might have been scrutinized as a public relations stunt. Barr described Meghan's unexpected appearance as a "typical celeb move," designed to generate buzz and excitement.

“Firstly, [Meghan and Harry] can't do a lot right when it comes to the majority of the UK press. If they announced what they were doing beforehand, it would be open to scrutiny and called a PR stunt. It also runs the risk of overshadowing the events and great causes they’re associated with,” Andy told Mirror.

"Secondly, and as Meghan will be accustomed to, this is a typical celeb move; pop up and create buzz from the excitement that you’re somewhere people weren’t expecting to see you,” he went on.

During the event, Meghan Markle teased the possibility of a Hollywood comeback and shared her anticipation for the announcement of their new projects. She conveyed a sense of pride in what they are creating, adding to the speculation about her and Prince Harry's future professional pursuits.

"I think the more we support each other it just amplifies the work, amplifies our community and I’m just thrilled to be back in it and to be able to sit in this room and be in such good company tonight,” Meghan Markle explained. "I can't wait until we can announce them, but I'm just really proud of what we're creating,” she added.
