PHOENIX, June 13, 2017 -- CopperPoint Insurance Companies, a leader in workers compensation insurance, announces it has named Mark L. Joos its chief financial officer.

Joos will be responsible for overseeing the Finance Division, including Finance, Accounting and Investments for CopperPoint, an A- “Excellent” A.M. Best-rated company with $1.3 billion in surplus and more than $3.6 billion in assets with no debt.
“Mark brings a deep understanding of insurance industry corporate finance. His expertise in insurance industry best practices, along with knowledge in setting financial priorities for anticipated growth will be a strong addition,” said Marc Schmittlein, President & CEO of CopperPoint Insurance Companies.

Joos has more than 25 years of industry experience, most recently serving as the senior vice president and CFO for GuideOne Insurance, where he oversaw capital management, managed rating agency relationships and executed strategic initiatives. He began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the firm’s Insurance Industry Practice. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Arizona State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Joos also earned a Master in Business Administration degree at the University of Chicago in 2001.
