CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (21st September) and cover positions up to Tuesday (18th September). COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold – Net position short and increasing
Short positions rose last week. The net short positions got increased by 3,254 contracts to -10.8K contracts.
- Copper – Net position short and decreasing
The net short positions declined last week by 8,703 contracts to -0.2K contracts.
- Silver – Net position short and decreasing
The short positions declined for the second consecutive week and by 1,887 contracts to -25.5K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and decreasing
Speculators reduced long positions for the 10th time in 13 weeks, and by 13,479 contracts, which brought the net positions to +530.4K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and increasing
Short positions rose for the 3rd time in 8 weeks and by 11,749 contracts last week to -81.8K contracts.
